AFES PTA NEWS - December 12, 2024

PTA Advocacy:

The PTA Advocacy Committee is dedicated to supporting and amplifying the voices of our families. To that end, the PTA has reached out to the Mayor and Town Council and our SRO about the traffic light and crossing guard situation at Humie Olive and Blazing Trail. We ask your help in also reaching out to press them to require consistent crossing safety for our children before and after school. Please take a moment to reach out and express your concerns too. 

To better understand your needs, concerns, and priorities, we’ve created a short survey. Your input will help shape our efforts and ensure we’re focusing on the issues that matter most to our school community.

Volunteers Needed 

The PTA is hoping to have two wonderful events for our AFES students - International Night and Fun Fest - but they have not been getting enough volunteers to be able to run these events. If you would like for these events to happen this year, AFES will need parents to volunteer to help.

    •International Night:

We are hoping to celebrate and host International Night again this school year, but we can only do it if we get help. *We do not have a date, so you will be a part of coordinating that too, though we are hoping to hold it in March.

   •Family Fun Fest:

We also would like to host Family Fun Fest again at the end of the school year, but we can only do it if we get help. We need event co-chairs, committee members, and volunteers. Please sign up if you are interested and available:

Spirit Rock

Have you seen the amazing artists we have in this school taking their turn and painting our rock by the Teacher Parking lot?! You can also get in touch with your inner artist and send a message to your special Shining Star!  There are still plenty of weeks available to share a message of birthday wishes, congratulations, or just something fun!
